Circuit South of Marrakech for 3 days on 4x4

The Adventure and the discovery in Sahara

1st day : Marrakech - Tinghir - Gorges of Todgha :

After breakfast, departure for Ouarzazate by the col Tizi-N-Tichka, the astonishing contrast of the relatively irrigated vertex and the front South of the Atlas which runs under the hard plateau. Ouarzazate: Lunch, departure for the Gorges of Todgha via Kelaa Mgouna, valley of roses. Gorges of Todgha, dinner and lodgment in the Hotel Des Roches.

2nd Day: Tinghir - The Dunes of Merzouga:

After breakfast, departure for Merzouga via Rissani. Pique-nique and continuation of the course until the dunes of Merzouga, which take a marvelous roses color in the sunset, bivouac at the foot of the dunes diner and lodgment under nomad tent in the hostel of the South.

3rd Day: The Dunes of Merzouga - Marrakech:

After breakfast, departure for Marrakech via Tinghir - Boulmane. Lunch in the kelaa M Gouna, valley of Roses. Continuation via Ouarzazate for Marrakech by the col of Tizi-N-Tichka to Marrakech.

Ouarzazate / Kasbah Ait Benhaddou Monument.

Ait benhaddou has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987 and several films have been shot there, including Lawrence of Arabia (1962), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), The Message (1976), Jesus of Nazareth (1977), The Last Temptation of Christ (1988), The Mummy (1999), Gladiator (2000), Alexander (2004) and others.

 

At the foot of the south comes out the majestic Ouarzazate, mixed up by oasis, the Kasbahs and the flourishing valleys. A vast deserted plateau that attracts tourists from different nationalities. At the shadow of the palm trees, Ouarzazate is settled in front of huge rock swept by al the winds of the Sahara. Sure the temperature can easily reach 45C in the summer or just beside, we can admire the snowy peaks of the High Atlas.

Marrakech / Valley of Asni

 

Asni Valley lies just an hour drive from the city of Marrakech. That valley that unfolds the beauty and purity of nature still largely intact and it offers an oasis of calm after the hustle and bustle of Marrakesh.

To reach this valley, we cross the landscape of infinite nuances. Asni village marks the moment of choice between continuing straight towards Marigha, Ouirgane or to bifurcate toward the beautiful small village Imlil.

Imlil is at 1740 meters altitude in the Atlas. It is located near Mont Toubkal, at 4167 meters the highest peak in Morocco and North Africa.

This charming little mountain village is the point of passage for all hikers who wish to undertake the 4167 m of Mount Toubkal. It is located at 64 km from Marrakech. It is also a gateway to the beautiful National Park of Toubkal. Founded in 1942 and covering an area of 38000 hectares, this park offers great opportunity for great hiking.

Marrakech / The Ourika Valley

 

Just 45 km travel from Marrakech to explore this green valley where the springs flow from the mountains of the Atlas which is used to irrigate orchards and vegetable gardens. This valley is characterized by small villages with mud houses clinging to the sides of mountains.

At the foot of the ski resort Oukaimden, the Valley of Ourika rises gently up to the first hills of the High Atlas where small typical villages have nested. It is a pure and magnificent place where silence is "troubled" by the singing of birds, streams and washerwomen. Ourika is famous for its pottery, for its minerals and crystals.

Just a half an hour drive to go to the Jardin Bio Aromatics. You will discover Nectarome based in organicand aromatic garden of Ourika. This garden covers an area of one hectare, with some forty species of medicinal and aromatic plants. Next door is the Farm Boutouil Takateret, where you can discover The Safraniere .

The Ourika Valley is very popular with Moroccans who seek freshness and calm away from the city of Marrakech which can be at sometimes a bit too dynamic.
